Warwickshire Health Economy consists of:

Warwickshire PCT, South Warwickshire General Hospitals NHS Trust, George Eliot NHS Trust, Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust

The Health Service in Warwickshire has identified key professionals - including doctors, nurses and midwives - who provide an important source of advice and expertise on child protection for health colleagues and professionals in other agencies. They are a focal point for promoting good practice in safeguarding children.

Acting with other professionals when necessary, the Designated and Named Professionals are responsible for:
  • advise and support
  • clinical supervision in child protection;
  • delivering training;
  • quality audit and monitoring;
  • promoting practice development;
  • ensuring staff have appropriate legal advice where necessary.

WARWICKSHIRE HEALTH ECONOMY LEAD PROFESSIONALS FOR SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN

The Designated Nurse for Warwickshire is Mary Weeks who carries a lead strategic role within the PCT and across the Warwickshire Health Trusts. She coordinates the activities of the Named Nurses in the PCT

The Designated Doctors for Warwickshire are Dr Peter Sidebotham and Dr John Davies who lead on medical issues around Safeguarding Children
