Overview and Scrutiny represents a new process for improving services for people by being responsive to your needs. The process is about Councillors working alongside providers, partners and local people. Scrutiny is a key part of the Council's aims to:-
 Modernise its structures and ways of thinking for the future
Improve its performance
Provide better services which are relevant and meet the needs of the Warwickshire community
Promote community engagement to deliver successful services
Ensure decision making is clear, transparent and accountable

October 2008 - On 15th October at 10am Shire Hall Warwick the Adult & Community Services OSC will be looking at the Government's consultation on the future long-term funding of the care and support system (the 'case for change').
On the 20th October the Children, Young People and Families OSC will be reviewing the progress made on the implementation of recommendations made in the following scrutiny reviews: School Meals, Child Povety and Bullying. Also on the 20th October, the End of Life Care Panel established by the Health OSC will be holding an End of Life Stakeholder Event to gain an understanding of the services and support that are currently provided in Warwickshire in relation to end of life care.
September 2008 - On 2nd September at 2pm Shire Hall Warwick the Adult & Community Services OSC will be considering the potential implications for Warwickshire of the proposed national dementia care strategy.
July 2008 - On 22 July the Economic Development OSC considered the potential post office closures in Warwickshire.
June 2008 - On the 24 June 2008 the Council agreed a core work programme for 2008-09
On 18th June Children, Young People and Families OSC reviewed progress on implementing the recommendations of review of Young People and Alcohol Misuse. View report on Young People and Alcohol Misuse
The Environment OSC considered in October 2007 the impact of climate change on water in the county. On 5th June the Committee assessed the progress on some of the issues highlighted and considering recommendations concerning future actions by the County Council.
