Learning and Working Together
Warwickshire Education Business Partnership (WEBP) works with schools, colleges and businesses to prepare young people for adult and working life.
By delivering innovative activities in response to the changing working world, we open up new horizons for the next generation. Established in 1992, WEBP is a member of the Institute of Education Business Excellence and is advised by a board drawn from businesses and schools in Warwickshire.
We enjoy substantial support from public and private sector partners – and from the volunteers who help us deliver our services to schools.
Celebrating a Business Boost for Education
The business world is about to become a whole lot more accessible to Warwickshire schoolchildren.
Warwickshire Education Business Partnership has contracts with STEMNET to act as a STEMPOINT and to co-ordinate STEM Ambassadors across Coventry and Warwickshire – working in partnership towards a society where young people, regardless of background, recognise the contribution of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) to their lives and where more choose to pursue STEM qualifications and careers.
Warwickshire Education Business Partnership is looking to reach more than 70 secondary schools and colleges, along with many primary schools, across Coventry & Warwickshire.
The aims are to:
- Bring science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) activities, experiences and excitement in to classrooms in Coventry and Warwickshire, enhancing and enriching the national STEM curriculum.
- By linking those companies and other organisations that employ STEM educated people, and schools, in such a way that young people can get a clear idea of the diverse and exciting range of careers available to them.
This will complement the existing services of Warwickshire Education Business Partnership, a business unit within Warwickshire County Council. Our aims are: to work in partnership with Education and Business to prepare young people for adult and working life and to provide a wuality service to support, enhance and enrich the 14 - 19 Agenda.
STEM Ambassadors are a key part of the STEMPOINT contract, many are already linked with schools in Coventry & Warwickshire, but more will be recruited to support STEMNET’s aims to encourage young people to consider STEM related qualifications and future careers.”
