We are able to offer help in a number of ways:
- provide help and advice for consumers who have experienced problems with the goods and services they have purchased
- provide specific help to vulnerable consumers
- investigate rogue traders and bring action against offenders where necessary.
- ensure that honest and fair businesses are protected from unfair and illegal competitors
- monitor businesses and take action where necessary to try to ensure the consumer is not cheated or mislead
- enforce laws regarding the sales and supply of goods and services where the relevant law is not being complied with
What we cannot do:
- intervene or act as an intermediary between traders who have contractual disputes
- tell you which trader to use or not to use
- we cannot make or change the law
- we cannot force the trader to offer you a refund or to replace or repair your goods
