Maintenance Policy Group
The Policy Group provides a monitoring and reviewing function and develops future strategies for the way road maintenance is carried out in Warwickshire. By supporting Operations and Network Maintenance in this way it ensures continuous improvement in the way that services are provided. It is a small unit because it is recognised that best value is gained by concentrating resources into ''Work on the ground'' in the form of actual maintenance to street lights, footways and carriageways.
The document 'Highway Maintenance Policy - A Public Guide' is currently under review, a new version will be available in the near future.

The Group is Responsible for...
- Detailed allocation of overall maintenance budgets to the various maintenance operation sections
- Reviewing of maintenance strategy and policy
- Preparing the maintenance section of the Warwickshire Local Transport Plan
- Preparing performance indicators to support best valve
- Preparation of winter salting routes
- Letting and management of maintenance contracts
