Social Care and Health
Direct Payments in Warwickshire

Direct Payments provide money to you so that you can arrange and pay for your social care and support instead of having services arranged for you by Warwickshire County Council.

Having Direct Payments does not effect your entitlement to benefits and does not count as income when your tax is worked out.

The aim of Direct Payments is to give you choice,

control and flexibility over the way you have support to live your life.

For example you could employ someone to be your personal assistant, providing you with care in the way you want at the times you want. Alternatively you could decide you want to use the money to buy services from a care agency.
Frequently asked questions abouts Direct Payments:
You can only have Direct Payments once you have had an assessment and we have agreed with you how much support you need.

If you have not had an assessment or if you are receiving a service and would like Direct Payments instead please contact the Customer Service Centre on 01926 410410.

Also see Self Directed Support. Please Note: Self Directed Support is currently only available in the Rugby area (for new customers) this programme will be rolled out across the County over the next 18 months.
