SIBS provides direct services, resources, research and consultation and training for therapeutic work with children and young people who have sexual behaviour difficulties, or who have difficulties arising from the sexual behaviour of others.
Its aims is the protection of known and potential victims from the harms caused by sexual (and other forms of) abuse.
SIBS is a countywide Children, Young People & Families Services (previously Social Services - Children) provision in Warwickshire.
The service emphasises a person-centred approach, in an anti-oppressive framework of children and young people's rights.
Many children and young people with sexual behaviour difficulties are themselves vulnerable and have quite complex needs. Therefore intervention must challenge the inappropriate sexual behaviours but also provide a high level of support and guidance to address the many issues in the children or young people's lives.
