Safety camera activity in Warwickshire is delivered by Warwickshire County Council, Warwickshire Police who undertake the actual enforcement, the Highways Agency and a number of other agencies.
From April 2007 safety camera enforcement and associated publicity and education activity has been funded from a road safety grant paid to Warwickshire County Council by the Government.
The majority of new camera sites are created where there is a known personal injury crash history and where there are high average speeds. Cameras are always deployed as a last resort, where other measures such as engineering, are not suitable.
