Do I need to apply for a Junior School place?

You only need to apply for a Junior School place if your child is in Year 2 at an Infant School. Parents of children in Primary School do not need to apply as the child will continue through the Junior department in the same school

When should I apply for a school place?

You should apply for a Junior place for your child at the beginning of Year 2 in the September prior to your child transferring. Application forms will be sent to you through your child's Infant School during September 2007. These forms should be completed and returned to your child's Infant School by 12 October 2007. All applications received by this date will be treated equally. However, returning your application after this date may affect your offer of a school place. You will be informed which school you have been allocated at the beginning of February 2008. Offer letters will be sent out 1st class on Friday 1 February 2008. You should receive your letter shortly after.

Entry in September 2008:

Places for Year 3 classes in Junior Schools will be posted on 1 February, 2008.

The Headteacher will tell you about the admission arrangements and the opportunities to visit the school.

The criteria for entry will be found in the area booklets available from the Admissions Service. Tel: 01926 742037 or 742047 or email: admissions@warwickshire.gov.uk

The booklets are also available on the website.

How do I apply to transfer my child to another school?

If your child has already started school and is transferring to a different school you must contact school's direct to discuss placement during an academic year. If a school has a place available and only one applicant, a transfer should be straight forward. Do not assume that a place will be available automatically.

Remember: Please discuss your reasons for transfer with your child's current school. Wherever possible, you should try to resolve the problems at your child's current school. A move for a child can be very disruptive.
