Get involved with the Eco Schools Programme at your Local School
Schools would welcome your help with Eco-Schools projects. Contact your local school and ask if you can volunteer to help with any Eco-Schools initiatives. These involve saving energy, water and waste, as well as carrying out projects around healthy living, school grounds, biodiversity, travel, litter and global issues. You could help the school gain one of 3 awards i.e Bronze, Silver or Green Flag.
Schools need your help, experience and expertise with projects such as gardening, growing organic vegetables, developing and maintaining wildlife areas and carrying out environmental projects. There are many areas which you as a member of the local community could volunteer to help your school with.
