Eco Schools

Biodiversity
School Grounds can offer students the chance to gain invaluable hands on experience with habitats, species and biodiversity. Teaching can be included in many areas of the curriculum, for example: science, mathematics, sustainable development, art and english.

School grounds can also be used to develop and conserve habitats. For example a wildlife pond can be a wetland, a few trees can create a woodland, and grassland can be developed into meadowland. If a school doesn't have large grounds then pots and containers can be planted up to create small habitats.
