 | George Eliot
Often eclipsed by Warwickshire’s other literary heavyweight, Shakespeare, George Eliot (the pen name of Mary Anne Evans) was a renowned novelist in Victorian England. She’s still highly regarded today and Nuneaton’s most famous daughter has had many of her works adapted for television. Lavish productions of her novels Middlemarch, Daniel Deronda and The Mill on the Floss have ensured that her fame lives on. |
 | | | Podcasts!
Learn more about the famous George Eliot and her special links with Warwickshire through two information packed podcasts that bring to live the characters, locations and life of George Eliot as depicted in her novels.
Presented by broadcaster Jane Markham, both have been edited to accompany the existing George Eliot walking Tours and Driving Tours, adding an extra depth to the life and works of George Eliot and her home town of Nuneaton.
