 | George Eliot
Often eclipsed by Warwickshire’s other literary heavyweight Shakespeare, George Eliot (the pen name of Mary Anne Evans) was a renowned novelist in Victorian England and famous for the realism and psychological insight of her stories.
| |
 |
 | Still highly regarded today, Nuneaton’s most famous daughter has had many of her works adapted for television. Lavish productions of her novels Middlemarch, Daniel Deronda and The Mill on the Floss have ensured that her fame lives on.
