Pump Rooms Columns Leamington

Overview
Leamington Spa is a 19th century spa town with a population of over 46, 000. With its mix of regency architecture coupled with a wide range of independent and high street shops the town is a unique visitor destination. Investments to the town over the past 10 years reflect the challenge to maintain this unique status whilst competing with neighbouring shopping destinations such as Coventry and Solihull.

The main parade in Leamington is home to a number of high street retailers and attracts the main proportion of shoppers to the town. There are a number of key developments in this area such as Regent Court, the Royal Priors and a recently proposed shopping complex in Chandos Street. The town has also recently secured a Yes vote to set up a Business Improvement District in the centre which will mean an additional £1.5million over 5 years towards promotional activities.

Situated along the banks of the river are the renowned Jephson Gardens, Royal Pump Rooms and Pump Rooms Gardens. All of these areas have been subject to major refurbishments over the past 10 years to ensure they continue to be of use whist maintaining their historical character.

To the south of the river (Clemens Street, Bath Street) is a range independent retailers. This area has been a focus for regeneration work with emphasis on creative and cultural industries. Schemes such as Spencer Yard and the Healthy Living Centre are testament to the success of Regensis, the implementation organisation set up to deliver £4.46m of SRB (Single Regeneration Budget) funding in this area.
