| Vehicle and trailer restrictions - Information | ||
| Vehicle and trailer restrictions apply at all household waste recycling centres in Warwickshire. The restrictions are designed to tackle a range of issues including the illegal disposal of commercial (trade) waste, which could otherwise cost the Council - and unltimately you, the Council tax payer - more than £1 million a year. | ||
| Implementation of the scheme is also helping to reduce congestion, improve health and safety and increase recycling. Full details can be found on the vehicle and trailer restriction policy webpage. A permit and voucher system is in place to enable some residents to use vehicles otherwise excluded by the vehicle and trailer restrictions. People with disabilities Where there is a disabled person in the household and the only vehicle is a van or pick-up modified because of the needs of the disabled person, then the household can apply for a permit. Please contact Waste Management directly for advice. | ||
| Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Bulky household electrical and electronic equipment such as washing machines, televisions, computers and fridges may be delivered in a van to household waste recycling centres (fridges and freezers are not accepted at Wellesbourne). The items must not be accompanied by any other waste and the person delivering the items must satisfy the operator that the items are not commercial (trade) waste. | ![]() | |
| Exemption for Larger Trailers Trailers up to 2.5 metres in length are permitted for the disposal of unaccompanied compostable green waste on weekdays before 12 Noon (not Bank Holidays). Besides a maximum bed length of 2.5 metres, trailers qualifying for this exemption should also be un-braked, single axle and 750kg maximum gross weight. Alternative methods for dealing with waste Find out how you can reduce, reuse, recycle and dispose of your waste if you cannot access the site because of the vehicle and trailer restrictions. Height barriers Height barriers are in place at Grendon, Hunters Lane, Cherry Orchard, Princes Drive and Shipston. The height barriers are approximately 6.6 ft. The barriers are in place to stop large vehicles accessing the site. Height barriers are not in place at Judkins, Stockton, Burton Farm or Wellesbourne. Frequently Asked Questions A list of frequently asked questions have been produced to help residents to understand the vehicle and trailer restrictions. | ||
