Resources - Interagency Child Protection Procedures
This document is the Warwickshire Safeguarding Children Board's Interagency Child Protection Procedures (Known as The "Blue Book" because of its cover).
The procedures describe the framework for professional practice to be followed by all agencies and professionals in Warwickshire, who have a responsibility for safeguarding children and promoting their welfare.
The procedures are based on government guidance (Working Together to Safeguard Children, HM Government 2006) and current thinking on what constitutes best practice in child protection.
A new version of the Blue Book is currently undergoing production to reflect the new edition of "Working Together" published by the government in April 2010. We await developments from the new government's review of child protection lead by Professor Eillen Munro to see if there will be another version of the "Working Together" guidance that will have to be incorporated. In the meantime, the current edition stands.
