This document is the Warwickshire Safeguarding Children Board's Interagency Child Protection Procedures (Known as The "Blue Book" because of its cover).
The procedures describe the framework for professional practice to be followed by all agencies and professionals in Warwickshire, who have a responsibility for safeguarding children and promoting their welfare.
The procedures are based on government guidance (Working Together to Safeguard Children, HM Government 2006) and current thinking on what constitutes best practice in child protection.
This latest version was launched in January 2007 and came into operation on 1st March 2007. The new procedures have been distributed to staff in all agencies.
