Telecare
Independent Living through Telecare Solutions

Telecare provides support to people in their own homes with the help of technology and community response services.

Trained operators are alerted within seconds of an accident or emergency and are able to respond in the best way.

It has already brought reassurance to hundreds of users who wish to be able to live in their own homes for as long as possible. These people now have help available at a touch of a button, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The Telecare project aims to improve people's quality of life by helping vulnerable people manage the risks of living in their own homes. It enables people to retain their privacy and control over their individual lifestyles.

How Telecare operates
  • Telecare is a remote monitoring service that is tailored to your individual needs
  • A wide range of sensors and detectors designed to improve safety in the home is available
  • Sensors link to a monitoring centre through a lifeline unit, connected by a conventional phone socket and power point
  • The monitoring centre answers the call alerts
  • Trained operators make contact with you and give the appropriate response - this could be reassurance, a call to a family member or friend, a community response team or the emergency services

Who would benefit from the service?
  • Older or disabled people
  • Individuals who have been discharged from hospital and require additional support and assistance at home
  • People at risk of domestic violence, racial harassment, repeat victimisation or distraction burglary
  • Those living in high crime areas
  • People of any age living alone

Where is Telecare available in Warwickshire?
