 | The Warwickshire Climate Change Partnership (WCCP) was formed in June 2005 and officially launched on 3rd July 2006 with the publication of the Warwickshire Climate Change Strategy. It includes organisations from the public, private and voluntary sectors. As at January 2009, more than 340 partners representing some 145 organisations and many individuals are committed to effectively reduce carbon dioxide emissions through targeted actions in five key areas: transport; energy; resource efficiency; adaptation; and communications and education.

 | The progress the Partnership has made was reviewed in July 2008. Steering Group members were invited to give their honest views on what, if anything, needed changing or adding to in order to shape the future direction. Review documents included: the cover letter, background, a list of early actions, an evidence based scoring sheet and a partnership satisfaction questionnaire.

The results show that Building Capacity through sharing good practice and providing the opportunity to pass on experience is the most important action for the WCCP to deliver. This is followed by Increasing Efficiency and Facilitating Communication.

 | From the results of the evidence based scoring (71 KB), there is most comprehensive evidence that Steering Group members have implemented actions to:
- Obtain robust baseline data.
- Identify ways to reduce fuel costs.
- Promote car sharing.
Followed by strong evidence that members are partly meeting these objectives:
- Encouraging walking and cycling.
- Improving waste management practices.
- We aim to use these webpages to provide as much information as possible on the wide range of climate change initiatives that are currently taking place across Warwickshire. We are particularly keen to encourage more partners to get involved and share good practice through case studies and profiles.
Following the financial settlement for Local Government from April 2011 onwards, work on the Climate Change Partnership has been scaled back. No new activities are taking place, however historical information remains for reference and limited support may be able to be provided by emailing climatechange@warwickshire.gov.uk.
