Welcome to Music for Life!

Music is as vital to a child's education as it is to contributing to a rich and inclusive society. The Government recognises this so much so that it has announced the academic year 2009/2010 as the 'Year of Music'. We provide:

instrumental and vocal lessons in schools and at our music centres to over 11,500 pupils;
a wide variety of groups for every level of ability including county groups who perform nationally and internationally;
curriculum teaching in pre-school and primary schools;
music therapy to all children and adults through referrals;
curriculum advice and support to all schools;
a wider opportunities programme which reaches over 5,000 pupils for at least a year's worth of instrumental and vocal tuition;
training opportunities for all teachers/workshop leaders;
corporate and educational team building sessions.

Synopsis
Warwickshire County Music Service (CMS) provides instrumental, vocal and curriculum music across a full range of educational settings as well as through our five music centres located in each of the five regions of Warwickshire.

We also provide lots of opportunities for young people to come together and make music at our music centres by providing a whole range of activities such as bands, choirs and orchestras.

For our most able students we have the County Performance Groups which are groups that represent the whole of the county. There is an orchestra, wind band, steel orchestra, choir, early music consort, jazz orchestra, viol consort and rock and pop institute, each giving students the opportunity to develop their skills to the highest possible level of achievement.

Globalbeats is the title we give our world music strategy. It is all about giving skills to our practitioners and teachers in how to use set of multicultural instruments.
