Easter is the most important festival in the Christian calendar. The dates for Holy Week and Easter in 2007 are:-
1 April - Palm Sunday
- Jesus arrives in Jerusalem and is welcomed by crowds waving palm leaves. Christians celebrate by distributing small crosses made from palm leaves at mass.
5 April - Maundy Thursday
- Jesus joins his disciples for the Last Supper.
6 April - Good Friday
- Jesus is executed on the cross.
8 April - Easter Sunday
- Jesus rose from the dead. Christians celebrate by exchanging Easter Eggs, the egg is a symbol of new life.
