Winners of the Warwickshire Employer of Choice Awards 2005

Previous award winners, the Hilton Hotel Warwick, hosted the 4th annual Employer of Choice Awards on the evening of 28th November 2005, supported by EQUAL ‘Adjust the Balance’ Development Partnership.

Employer of Choice Awards 2005

Every year employers eagerly compete to be recognised as the top employer of choice in the County, and this year was no exception. Tension was running high as people waited to hear who would win each of the four categories and receive one of the prestigious cut-crystal awards.

Over 130 people attended the event and after battling the snowy conditions to attend the awards ceremony guests warmed themselves while enjoying a pre-dinner chat to other guests, a glass of wine and classical music from the Almayer String Quartet.

The standard of entries from Warwickshire employers keeps rising and this year the judges had a difficult time choosing between the many excellent applications that were received.

Almayer String Quartet

After dinner keynote speaker and previous award winner Tricia Wellings from Bright Kids Nursery, Studley, talked about the reasons for her success. She highlighted the importance of work-life balance policies to organisations and their workforce and how it had been key in the development of her own business.

Master of ceremonies John Deegan, Director of PTES, then named each of the winners with Councillor Gordon Collett, Chair of Warwickshire County Council, presenting the awards.

A total of sixteen awards and framed certificates were presented to winners and runners up, as well as a special recognition award for outstanding achievement in Work-life Balance. All winners received a magnificent cut-crystal block engraved with the name of the business and awards category in which they had won.

The Warwickshire Employer of Choice Awards are organised by Warwickshire County Council and help in raising the profile of Work-life Balance as a first-class benefit to businesses and organisations within the county. Congratulations to all those who entered the awards or supported the event this year.
