Kenilworth

Kenilworth Castle
Kenilworth is a small, historic town in the heart of Warwickshire with a population of around 23,000. It is best known for its impressive medieval fortified Castle dating from 1119AD and destroyed by parliamentary forces in 1649. Today over 100,000 people a year visit the Castle ruins. The town boasts a number of other interesting historic features including the remains of a medieval
monastery and an area known as Little Virginia which is said to have connections to Sir Walter Raleigh and the humble potato.

Modern Kenilworth offers residents and visitors a notable range of high quality, award winning restaurants, pubs and bars. These are complemented by independent shops and representation by national retailers. A series of new developments are currently taking place in the town centre - the centre piece of which is a new Waitrose supermarket due to be completed in 2008.
