Switch It Off Campaign November 2006 School Art Competition
There were over 1,300 individual art works submitted across the 3 areas (Warks, Worcestershire and Coventry)
The local school winners were:
Coventry & Warwickshire:
Secondary - Bishop Ullathorne (Coventry)
Primary - High Meadow (Warwickshire)
Special - Brooke (Warwickshire
Worcestershire:
Secondary - Aston Fields
Primary - Broadheath
Special - Thornton House
The above schools will go through to the
regional finals
- the overall winners will be announced later by Jaguar Cars.
Winners were chosen using the following criteria:
BEST SCHOOL – based on
1. Quality of work
2. Quantity of work
3. Number of children involved
4. Number of pieces of artwork
5. Kind of message portrayed
6. Have they addressed the issue of ‘switchitoff’?
BEST PIECES – based on
1. The amount of involvement from the child
2. How creative?
3. How have they produced the work?
4. Is it eye catching – has it got wow factor?
5. Has it got a message, or just a picture that is pretty but doesn’t have any meaning?
The individual shapes will be made into a giant light bulb to be exhibited and used in a media campaign.

Prizes for the best art work will include individual merit certificates, school prizes of £250 and the Jaguar "Leaper" trophy.
