Changing Perceptions and Values around Caring and Carers
Following on from the “Who Cares?” workshops, this page is a resource for frontline staff in public services. It should provide a clear and comprehensive, though not exhaustive, guide to services which are available locally and nationally to support carers in their role.
As stated within the workshops, effective signposting and referral of carers requires the worker to have a clear understanding of the carers need, due to the variety of support which is available.
For example, a carer who requires support to enable them to take breaks from their role needs a carers’ assessment from Adult, Health and Community Services. A carer who requires emotional support may benefit from being referred to a carers support service, which is a Voluntary/Community Service.
