Wheelchair Accessible Bus Services

Flexibus

The bus services are run of behalf of Warwickshire County Council by the A & M Group using buses with special wheelchair accessible modifications.

Flexibus services are open to everyone but are particularly helpful to people with mobility problems. To help people who find steps difficult or impossible, the bus used is equipped with an electric lift to help passengers on board. A trained, friendly care assistant is also on hand to help passengers on and off and to assist inside the bus.

There are around 45 Flexibus routes in the County, taking people from rural areas to nearby towns and providing people with mobility problems, even within town areas, the opportunity to visit the local supermarket or high street to undertake their personal business without having to rely on other people.

Although all the routes have a fixed destination point and certain specific boarding points, the buses can divert off route to collect people with mobility problems - you don't have to be a wheelchair user - from their homes. This has to be pre-booked before 0900 on the day of travel. Fares on Flexibus are no dearer than conventional bus services. The telephone number 0500 21 22 25 for bookings and enquiries is even free.
