Signposting
A comprehensive signposting service for professionals to a range of Family Information Service (FIS) partners and family support services.
School and Practitioner Information Pack
FIS user guide and reference pack for schools and practitioners. Click the link to request a new pack or to download up to date documents.
Parent Direct
A service for working parents which provides accurate and up-to-date information, advice and guidance about employment rights and work-life balance.
Outreach Services
Development Workers.
FIS provides an Outreach service, delivering information in local communities in particular to hard to reach groups - a team of 5 Outreach Development Workers cover the County with individual District responsibility. Outreach service delivery can vary from giving formal/informal talks to groups of parents, practitioners and services, running 1 to 1 surgeries, providing leaflets and signpost information, or a presence at school and community events.
Brokerage Service.
A new service that will offer enhanced 1 to 1 support for those enquirers who need further assistance to access childcare and family support services. You can make referrals to this service on behalf of your clients by completing and returning a
Brokerage Referral Form
.
School Transfer Support Service
This is delivered by 2 School Transfer Coordinators who provide independent and impartial advice to parents who may find it hard to engage with the admissions system and to offer support to enable them to complete the secondary school application process. There are currently 2 coordinators in post until August 2008.
