My dear Father,
I was very sorry not to have you here today, I wish very much you had come - you would have liked it I think. I am very happy, and do not think I shall ever regret the step I have taken - we start from this at 9 tomorrow and take Hagley on our way. The lodgings at Hagley are not first rate. The Bishop told me I should find Hagley a very nice place to live at and both Mr. & Ld Lyttelton very nice people. I dined with Mr. Allsopp on Thursday and they were all very kind to me - & wished very much I had taken the curacy of Martin Hussingtree near them - on Friday I dined with Mr. Woodhouse Mr. Allsopps agent at Worcester. Mr. A says he thinks I shall find Ld. Lyttelton a brick. I don't think I could have done better, than Hagley, except perhaps in the money line. With very best love to you & WaIter believe me to remain my very dear Father
Yr. very affect son
