Ceva selects Birch Coppice for Flagship Freight Forwarding Facility

Leading global logistics and freight management company CEVA has established a flagship freight forwarding facility at Birch Coppice Business Park, one of the Midlands most successful rail served distribution locations. The purpose built 55,000 sq ft (5,110 m2) warehousing facility developed by IM Properties to incorporating bespoke requirements for CEVA Freight (UK) underwent a fit out investment of £200,000 to embrace the latest technology in global freight management systems.

The relocation to Birch Coppice in Warwickshire brings together two original Midlands facilities to provide a portfolio of blue-chip customers with competitive operational solutions in road transportation and international air and sea freight.

“Location of warehousing is always a critical factor in our industry and Birch Coppice has a high rating. The benefit of having the rail served Birmingham Intermodal Freight Terminal (BIFT) on site, just a few hundred yards from our new facility fits well with our traditional freight forwarding and gives the flexibility of multi-modal transportation.”

“We are currently processing over 3,500 shipments a month comprising of national and international movements for regular volume contracts and one off consignments.” said Bryan Hindle, regional manager for CEVA Freight (UK).

Also located at IM Properties’ Birch Coppice Business Park is CEVA Logistics distribution hub of 733,000 sq ft (68,095 m2) covering a 40 acre (16 ha) site dedicated to a VW Logistics contract for the importation and UK distribution of automotive service parts.
