![]() Work of Lollipops highlighted in Trafalgar Square |
| Annabel Matharu from Warwickshire County Council’s Road Safety Team, braved the elements last night (Wednesday 15th July) to highlight the work of School Crossing Patrols across the country. Annabel spent an hour on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square as part of sculptor Anthony Gormley’s latest project. Annabel said “I was lucky enough to be randomly selected to take part in this project to place a different person for one hour, every hour for 100 days on the empty fourth plinth. As I work for the County Councils road safety unit I decided to wear the uniform of a School Crossing Patrol to highlight the wonderful work our Lollipop men and women do which actually turned out to be an appropriate decision as it turned out to be an evening of sunshine and heavy showers! The whole experience was fantastic and I feel privileged to have taken part in this historic event. I shall be boring friends, relatives and anyone else who will listen with stories and photos about this for many years to come - so be warned!” For more information contact Annabel on 10926 418062. | Related Links Road Safety | |
