Our Schools Programme
We currently offer a wide range of sessions both on site and as outreach
Sessions at St John's House Museum
Visit us at the newly refurbished St Johns House Museum this year and take part in any of our Victorian role play sessions. We cover all aspects of the Key Stage 1 and 2 curriculum including Victorian Schoolroom sessions in our classroom space and Victorian Laundry sessions in the Kitchen. Or of course your class can explore the grounds and the architecture of St Johns with our Discovering St Johns pack.
Day Projects
These whole day sessions take place in the Activity Centre at St Johns and cover all topics from the curriculum, from the Ancient Egyptians to Victorian Childhood. Using Museum and Archive collections these topic are brought to life by our qualified teaching staff.
All these sessions run from 10.15 am - 2.15 pm and are only available for certain weeks in the term.
For more information check out our Special Day Projects pages.
Outreach Sessions
If you can't come to us let us bring the collection to you. These specially designed sessions allow children to experience the Heritage and Culture of Warwickshire in your own classroom. We now offer a range of different topics all year round, with more to come!
Or really take your learning outside the classroom and join us at Cross Hands Quarry or Oversley Wood to explore the natural world around us.
Museum on the Move
'Go with the flow – the life of rivers' is Warwickshire and Worcestershire's touring museum exhibition service. It aims to reach parts of Warwickshire and Worcestershire which static museums cannot reach. 'Go with the flow' runs for a year from April 2008. It explores and celebrates the life and times of local rivers, with reference to landscapes, wildlife, floods, human settlement, industry, transport and leisure. 'Go with the flow' illustrates these themes using museum objects, pictures, texts, interactive displays and other materials, with the help of our friendly onboard interpreters.
Schools Library Service
