Letter to Isaac Evans from Jane Wightwick Aylesford. This letter, written in distraught terms, tells of an economic calamity that has befallen the Aylesford family, with Jane Wightwick Aylesford asking for advice with regard to 'throw[ing] up the Friars'. Written from 9 Chesham Place and signed J W Aylesford.
NB On the folder that at one time housed this letter a note read that the date is taken from a postmark - 'envelope missing'.

Dear Mr. Evans
Tell me the worst nothing can now upset me more
all this is too terrible I also shall suffer because of course no one will trust me & I do owe money of course not getting anything for the Children & not all my jointures & no rents from The Bury & less from you all is against me & I am in a state of wretched misery. Can I throw up the Friars or is it wise not to do it I am quite bewildered with it all.

Are all the Books gone as well as Pictures China Jewels Plate Furniture also nothing but the 4 Walls exist- Where is his Lordship. I have not dared write to him.
