Victorian Schoolroom

Sessions at St Johns

Experience the Victorian Schoolroom at St. John's House Museum in Warwick.

Write on slates, read from the school readers, count on the abacus, practise your marching and much more!

A 'Victorian' teacher supplied by Heritage Education, takes the children through elements of a typical school day in 1888; the 3Rs, drill, an object lesson and even vocal gymnastics!

We provide basic costume for the children - pinafores for the girls and sailor collars for the boys - and costumes for adult 'visitors' to the schoolroom
