 | Introduction to Decriminalised Parking Enforcement (DPE)
From 31st March 2008 changes are being made to local authority parking enforcement and the penalties you may receive for contravening any parking regulations.
The Decriminalisation of On-Street Parking Enforcement is a Central Government promoted process. In basic terms, the result of this process will be that parking enforcement becomes a civil rather than a criminal matter.
It involves the Local Authority accepting enforcement responsibility from the Police. This therefore means that Warwickshire County Council will be working in partnership with the District or Borough Council to achieve more stringent enforcement of on-street restrictions.
This process has already been completed within Stratford on Avon District, Rugby, and will be implemented throughout the county in the future. | |
