Cowboy Rogue Traders are Not Welcome in Warwickshire

Yee Haa is a new campaign to increase resident’s awareness and protection from Doorstep Crime. The campaign will be rolled out to hot spot areas across the county from June 2009.

The Yee Haa campaign plays on the theme of Cowboy Traders. Residents in “hot-spot” areas will be issued with door stickers and information booklets following the theme of staying safe from cowboy traders. Street signage will reinforce the No Rogue Trader message and act as a warning to rogue traders that they will be reported if they attempt to trade in the area.

Residents are encouraged to “Suspect It Report It” to the Rapid Response Team via Consumer Direct. A response will be made either in person or by phone to a report of a suspicious caller in an area. The aim of Suspect It Report It is to take the burden off residents to decide if a caller is genuine.

The first "Hot Spot" areas to be targeted are:
  • Bedworth - Collycroft Estate
  • Rugby - Bawnmore Road Area
  • North Warwick - Woodloes Estate
  • Kenilworth - Windy Arbour
