Welcome to Warwickshire County Council

Waste and Recycling

Mobile Phones

Do you have an old mobile phone?

Then why not recycle it at one of Warwickshire County Council's Household Waste Recycling Centres. All proceeds will go to Guide Dogs for the Blind to help a guide dog.

All you have to do is:
  • Locate your nearest Recycling Centre
  • Remove any Sim Card
  • Take your mobile phone plus charger, battery and any accessories to your nearest Recycling Centre and place the mobile phone in the red bins provided.

Why recycle mobile phones?

It is currently estomated that as many as 15 million old mobile phones lie redundant in UK businesses and homes (Source: Office Green). Recycling reduces the amount of landfill waste and reduce the amount of raw materials needed to produce new products and it ensures that the mobile phone is disposed of safely. The rechargeable battery and other components such as the LCD display have toxic components. Research suggests that there are over 20 million potentially toxic redundant mobile phones in the UK alone (Source: Waste Watch).

How much will my phone raise?

Old mobile phones range from £1.80 to £66 each.

The Office Green website can tell you how much your phone will raise. You can also recycle your toner and inkjet cartridges at the Recycling Centres. Office Green, 6 Prospect Way, Hutton, Essex, CM13 1XA
