Objective 3 in Warwickshire
WCC Projects |
|
Background
The European Social Fund (ESF) Objective 3 2000 - 2006 programme has now closed. WCC had funding from the programme for a number of projects. This included:
Sustained Employment through Learning (SEtL)
WCC Environment and Economy Directorate has been awarded approximately £2.4M to deliver the Sustained Employment through Learning (SeTL) project, providing training and jobs support to adults in the County who are experiencing barriers to work . The funds will come from the Learning & Skills Council through co-financing (Phase 3a – Pre-employment support for adults). The project will combine advice & guidance with motivational training, employability training and vocational training. It will be targeted at people who are economically inactive right across the County and in particular people on Incapacity Benefit, migrant communities and older people. It will encompass ‘barrier-breaking support’ in order that as many people as possible can take advantage. For further details contact Helen Flanagan on 02476 321971 or Mark Maffey on 01926 889944.
Chilvers Coton Initiative
This project provided a variety of basic vocational and recreational training courses for about two hundred members of the local community at a purpose built training centre in Edward Street, Nuneaton and previously received £91,000 from ESF.
North Warwickshire Employment Brokerage (NOW)
£160,000 was awarded to this project for the period July 2002 to March 2004 and a further £87,000 was then secured to keep the project operational until January 2005. The project provided information, support, services and resources to enable individuals to access job opportunities arising from new development sites along the M42 Corridor.
Work Support and Guidance for Young People
This project received ESF funding to provide additional support for disaffected young people to encourage them to continue their vocational training and gain a positive outcome.
