Awards for All West Midlands want to support projects that support one or more of their Regional Priority 'Outcomes' - these are:
- Better understanding of different people, places and cultures in our local community, eg; oral history, community festivals, local history exhibitions or parish surveys.
- Increased involvement from people facing barriers to participation, eg. inclusion of older people in learning activities; integrated sports activities for disabled and non disabled people; translation services and school holiday activities for children of parents on low incomes.
- Greater use of community buildings: eg. refurbished buildings to support a new activity; increasing uptake via publicity, community cafes, village film clubs and better use of outside spaces.
- Healther Lifestyles for the whole community: eg. promotion of healther eating; running self-help groups; walking and cycling projects; well-being classes.
Small voluntary and not-for-profit groups are eligible to apply including town and parish council's, schools and health bodies. Applications will be scored according to the degree to which the project meets the aims of the programme and the regional priorities, whether the total cost of the project is below £20,000, the annual income level of the group, whether this is a new area of activity for the group and whether they have received lottery funding before.
New application packs require more information about bank statements and also support from an independent referee. Awards for All want to remind applicants for projects that involve schools that they must have an external focus, take place out of school hours and be supported by Heads or their deputies.
