Tetra Pak and Beverage Carton Recycling
In 2007 Warwickshire County Council in partnership with Tetra Pak Ltd and the carton industry body ACE UK (Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment), launched a beverage carton recycling scheme across the County to give Warwickshire residents the opportunity to recycle even more of their household rubbish.
Each year, UK beverage carton manufacturers produce approximately 55,000 tonnes of paper-based cartons for milk, juice, sauces and other liquid foods and drinks. This equates to around 2.3kg of cartons per household, which could be recycled instead of being thrown in the rubbish bin.
Warwickshire County Council working with the carton industry have introduced carton collection facilities at all nine of the
household waste recycling centres
in the County for residents to take their empty cartons to be recycled.
Please wash and squash your cartons before placing into the container.
Once collected the cartons are taken away to be baled and transported to a recycling mill. Cartons can be recycled into a number of different products, ranging from plasterboard liner to high-strength paper bags and envelopes. For further information see
