A showcase for rural tourism A new website promoting tourism in rural Warwickshire has been launched, to coincide with British Tourism Week, showcasing the very best of the county’s rural tourism assets.

WithinWarwickshire.com provides a stylish and informative platform for rural tourism businesses, towns, villages, attractions and rural events to shout about all that is great about this wonderful part of the country. The new website brings together all a visitor needs to know about rural Warwickshire’s
· historic houses and gardens
· market towns and villages
· venues producing and serving award winning local food and drink
· the best walking and cycle routes
· spotlight events
· literature and arts

In addition it has an interactive map, accommodation listing, essential travel information, useful links to other partners and a gallery of captivating images to entice potential visitors. And, keeping right up to date with technology, there are several podcasts and videos to entertain. WithinWarwickshire.com complements other regional and local sites which generally have a more urban focus, to give new and existing visitors ‘the whole story’ about Warwickshire. It is the perfect portal to getting ‘within’ Warwickshire.

The website forms part of the Welcome to the Countryside campaign, a project funded by the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) which aims to attract more visitors to enjoy the towns, villages, attractions and countryside of Warwickshire, boosting the volume and value of the rural tourism economy.

Cllr Colin Hayfield, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder responsible for tourism, said: “WithinWarwickshire presents rural Warwickshire as it should be - quintessentially English, unspoilt, charming and captivating. The county is a rural destination which is home to many high quality attractions, delicious local food and a calendar of exciting events.

“The new website enables our rural tourism businesses, who may not previously had the opportunity to engage fully in tourism promotion, to really work collaboratively and benefit from the additional income this project should generate.”
