This page details educational activities with an international focus which have involved Warwickshire students, teachers , governors and officers .This includes examples of Warwickshire schools with links with schools in other parts of the world, international study visits, cultural exchanges and development education courses and conferences.The work of the European Union, United Nations and international non-governmental bodies like Oxfam and Christian Aid all contribute to help schools teach about racial justice and global citizenship.
It also includes international opportunities which may be of interest to schools and educationists in Warwickshire.

DFID Global School Partnerships promotes partnerships between schools in the UK and schools in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. Details can also be found on the Grant Preparation Seminars of which there are two, the Reciprocal Visit and Global Curriculum Projects.

| Marjanne Prins develops educational materials in Dutch as well as in Papiamentu, the language of instruction on the island of Curacao in the Caribbean. She is developing a foreign language programme for 3 languages, Dutch, Spanish and English in order to establish a Caribbean methodology of teaching involving songs, rhymes and stories. Marjanne would like to get into contact with other teachers and other professionals to work on ideas and support. Primarily she is looking for course materials for teachers. The Gambia - Learning Together course and study visit is being arranged by TIDE, starting in September 2006.

 Rohini's report on the visit to South Africa, 'Seeking Ubuntu' can be found here. The visit took take place in August 2005 and had a strong focus upon Citizenship and in particular the role of Education in enabling democratic citizenship.The visit was of particular interest to those working in Initial Teacher Education ... but was also of value to anyone involved in or supporting Citizenship Education in schools.
