Governor Training

Governor Development ensures all school governors in Warwickshire receive the support, advice and training necessary to make them effective governors and enable them to fulfil their statutory duty to promote school improvement.

We are able to help you with:

A helpline FREE to all governors in Warwickshire (01926 413722 or governors@warwickshire.gov.uk)
Queries on all aspects of the governing body’s role and responsibilities (If we don’t know the answer we always know someone who does!)
Advice and practical help with restructuring the governing body’s committees and working parties.
Induction of new governors (FREE one session courses available).
Programme of more specialist courses including personnel and finance, and school improvement topics including self-evaluation.
Provision of in house training - almost all topics available.
Up to the minute briefings available on all the latest topics/issues including Children Act, Extended Schools, Child Protection.
A termly newsletter for all governors – FREE
An information pack for all new governors - FREE
An annual training programme sent to all Warwickshire governors
Training available to purchase by subscription or on a buy as you go basis.
