Workshop October 2005

Asbestos Risk Management

All businesses who occupy premises must 'manage the risk' of asbestos-containing building materials. This involves identification of any asbestos materials, the amount and condition.
The main duty is 'making sure as far as is reasonably practicable no one can come to any harm from asbestos on your premises' Non compliance is a criminal offence.

information is available at Health & Safety Executive Asbestos Campaign

A list of approved Asbestos Licence Holders can be found on the HSE website (Information) or from your Local Authority (District or Borough)
