Did you know…?

Cycling is a healthy, economical and pollution-free way to travel for short local journeys – to work, school, the shops, leisure centre, rail station and other destinations around town. It only takes about 10 minutes to cycle 2 miles, which is often faster than going by car!

A moderate 30 minute ride to work can burn 200 calories, or 11kg of fat per year (BMA)

Studies show that regular cyclists enjoy fitness levels of people 10 years younger!

Cyclists can claim tax relief of up to 20p per mile if they use their own bike for business purposes and motorcyclists can claim up to 24p per mile if they use their own motorbike for business purposes. If your employer pays you less than 20p/24p per mile for bicycle/motorcycle use, you can claim the difference using the form P87 from Revenue and Customs.
