Local Studies User Survey 2006
A survey to help us check awareness of the collections held, usage and satisfaction levels.
When: Monday, 6th November 2006 to Sunday, 19th November 2006 (2 weeks)
Where: Leamington, Kenilworth, Warwick, Rugby, Stratford, Atherstone, Nuneaton, Bedworth
How: A two page survey with 10 questions, with mostly tick box responses required
204 questionnaires were completed by users throughout the 8 Warwickshire libraries

In summary:
- 204 responses in total
- High level of awareness with Local Studies books and newspapers
- Low level of awareness of the Local Studies website
- Most respondents use the library to find the information they are looking for as it is local and convenient
- 55% of respondents found what they were looking for, while 34% only found part of the information, this was mainly due to the fact that research was ongoing
- Only 3% did not find what they were looking for and the main reasons for this was that the information was never recorded in the first place or Warwickshire Libraries do not hold the information
- High level of satisfaction with staff knowledge (77%) and staff helpfulness (83%)
Also in the recent Adult PLUS we added 2 Local Studies questions, one about awareness and one about usage:
- 7,193 customers responded to the awareness question and 33% were aware of the Local Studies Collections
- 6,995 customers responded to the usage question and 11% had used the Local Studies Collections before
