Schools

Many schools across Warwickshire are already involved in initiatives to counteract climate change through the Eco-Schools Programme.

Eco-School Case Studies

Eco Schools is an international award programme that guides schools on their sustainable journey. Schools work towards gaining one of three awards, Bronze, Silver and the Green Flag award.
One hundred and eighty-eight schools in Warwickshire are registered on the Eco Schools programme fifteen of which hold the Eco Schools Green Flag award. Eco/Sustainable Schools Best Practice Meetings

Eco/Sustainable schools Best Practice meetings are planned for all areas of the county. These meetings aim to provide schools with an opportunity to share knowledge and ideas.

The first two Sustainable School / Eco School Best Practice meetings were held in June and covered North Warwickshire and Rugby areas. The meetings proved quite a success especially for schools just beginning their eco school journeys. Thank you to St Benedicts Catholic Primary, North Warwickshire and Henry Hinde Infants, Rugby for hosting these meeting and sharing a wealth of knowledge and ideas.

School Newsletters - Please find below the best practice meeting newsletter which provides schools with funding and resource ideas as well as stories on the experiences of others whilst working towards their eco schools awards.
Kenilworth School - Sustainability Challenge

Warwickshire Climate Change Team is working alongside Kenilworth School in order to improve its green credentials, as well as assisting in the formation of links with local communities and businesses.
