Museum on the Move - Numbers Count- An interactive history of 1.2.3

Numbers Count is a great exhibition for Schools.

Mathematics is a means of making sense of the world in which we live, but it is so much more. It is a great creative force which can excite and challenge children into asking those important questions of ‘how?’ and ‘why?’ which open up ever increasing opportunities for exploration and understanding of our world and beyond.

Working with Maggie Booth from the Primary National Strategy we have developed some great classroom based activities complementary to the materials on the bus during a visit.

Numbers are everywhere and have been with us for thousands of years. We use them every day – for bank card PINs, phone numbers, the time of day, to catch the bus that takes you home.

Numbers Count: an Interactive History of 123 is the latest Museum on the Move exhibition from Warwickshire and Worcestershire Museum Services.

Using objects and interactive activities, this exhibition traces the origins of numbers, number patterns in the natural world and the many ways we use number systems in our daily lives.

So, think of a number... and find out more! .
