 | The projects listed in the Energy section of the Action Plan aim to meet the following strategic objective: |
 | "To reduce greenhouse gas emissions resulting from our use of energy through improving energy efficiency, minimising waste and increasing the exploitation of renewable sources of energy."
The following list details the energy projects currently running in Warwickshire. We aim to record the progress of these projects every six months. This progress report document will be held on the Partnership home page under Action Plans, where you can also download the full Action Plan. If you know of any other suitable projects being run by local councils, businesses, community groups or schools, please contact us.
1. Switch It Off Awareness Campaign
- Switch it off - Universally Challenged schools' competition, family challenge, business competition, anti-idling campaign, fire safety, giveaways.
- This year's campaign - Mon 20th Oct to Fri 24th Oct 2008
- Last year SIO ran from Mon 29th Oct to Fri 2nd Nov 2007
- When first launched in 2006, the campaign ran from Mon 30th Oct to Fri 3rd Nov 2006

3. Biomass Heating Project
- Feasibility studies.
- Visit to Oakengates Theatre and Leisure Centre.
- Visit to Pattingham wood chip depot.
- Biomass event at Warwick College, Moreton Morrell, 30th May 2006 (48 delegates).
- Development of a draft design guide (266 KB) for developers and specifiers.
- Warwickshire & Coventry Biomass Heating Support Group event at Moreton Morrell, Dec 2007.
- Biomass boiler installation by Warwick District Council at Oakley Crematorium.
- Oakley Wood bought by Warwick District Council; wood to be managed and some used as biomass fuel.
- Biomass boiler installation at Kingsbury Water Park, May 2008.

- Recruit 15 volunteers per year and train them to act as 'Energy Champions' , advocates of sustainable energy use within their own communities.
- Training will be structured and in depth.
- Volunteers will carry out information stands and activities at events plus talks to community groups and schools.
9. Micro Wind Project
Installation of Ampair wind turbines at:

- Lillington Road
- Princes Drive
