Shipston on Stour

Stour United Businesses - SUB
Stour United Businesses offers support services to sole traders, partnerships and incorporated companies across South Warwickshire.
The Group was established in 2005 and is steadily growing in membership from businesses in sectors as diverse as retail and leisure, agriculture and horticulture, manufacturing and providers of a wide spectrum of business services. In addition to a regular programme of monthly informal get-togethers at the George Hotel, Shipston-on-Stour on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm, where members and guests can exchange ideas and generate business amongst one-another, SUB also undertakes projects focused on specific issues and challenges and arranges meetings on business matters such as the implications of the Budget on small businesses, training and coaching and business promotion and betterment.

In 2007, two of the major project undertaken were to spearhead the need for urgent response by local authorities and government agencies to the flooding of the Stour Valley and the development of a retail and leisure publication to promote members’ interests in this vitally important business sector, particularly in regard to developing the broader tourism offering in the area.

A bi-monthly newsletter is circulated to members and non-members throughout South Warwickshire and, through its web site, -www.stourunitedbusinesses.co.uk – the Group offers both a business directory, details of membership benefits and updated news of its events and activities.

Further information may be obtained from the Group’s Chairman,
Bob Tolley.
