- The Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003 make it unlawful to discriminate against workers because of their real (or perceived) sexual orientation.
Within the Regulations, sexual orientation is defined as:-
Orientation towards person of the same sex (lesbians and gay men)
Orientation towards persons of the opposite sex (heterosexual)
Orientation towards persons of the same and opposite sex (bisexual)
The Regulations make it unlawful to discriminate, harass or victimise a worker on the basis of their sexual orientation.
- The Equality Act (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2007 prohibit discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation in the provision of goods and services.
