Educational Psychology Service
The Educational Psychology Service (EPS) works in every Warwickshire school, and in both maintained and non-maintained nurseries and Early Years facilities. Each school has an allocated Educational Psychologist (EP), who works with school or Early Years staff to support children with special educational needs (SEN) or those who may be vulnerable for other reasons. Educational psychologists are also involved in supporting Children's Centres through parent support and training programmes.
Educational Psychologists may be involved in:
·
Regular liaison with Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators (SENCos).
·
Consultation and problem solving with those who have direct involvement with children and young persons (usually parents/carers and teachers).
·
Direct work with, and observations of, individual pupils.
·
Providing psychological advice to the LA for those pupils undergoing statutory assessment.
·
Providing training for school staff, parents or other groups.
·
Project work geared towards the development of school improvement.
The EPS works closely with other support services and agencies in Warwickshire, including:
Assessment, Statementing & Review Service (ASRS)
Learning and Behaviour Support Service (LABSS)
Integrated Disability Service (IDS) - Teaching & Learning
IDS Autism Inclusion Team (AIT)
Education Social Work Service (ESWS)
