As part of the new planning system introduced last year by Government, all Local Planning Authorities are required to produce a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI). The purpose of this document is to specify how we will involve you in the development plan-making process and in making decisions on planning applications.

Before producing the Statement of Community Involvement we undertook informal consultation

We then developed a Draft Statement of Community Involvement and asked you for your comments.

We have considered the comments made during this consultation and where possible revised the SCI in response to these.

On 7th November we submitted the revised Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) to the Secretary of State.

We asked you to evaluate the soundness of the Draft Submission Statement of Community Involvement. The six week consultation period lasted from the 7th November to 19th December 2005.
All representations received have been submitted to the Secretary of State and will be considered by the Inspector at an independent examination.

A summary of the representations and Warwickshire County Council's proposed response (where appropriate) is available to view here, in libraries across the county and at Council office reception areas in Barrack Street and Shire Hall
Following submission to the Secretary of State on the 7th November 2005 the SCI was formally adopted on 25th May 2006.
