Statement of Community Involvement

As part of the new planning system introduced by Government in 2004, all Local Planning Authorities are required to produce a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI). The purpose of this document is to specify how we will involve you in the development plan-making process and in making decisions on planning applications.

In March 2005 Warwickshire County Council carried out an informal consultation asking a number of questions about whether you would like to be involved in developing the SCI.

We then developed a Draft SCI and undertook public consultation on the draft document running from 29th July 2005 until 9th September 2005.

We then considered the comments made (PDF - 41 KB) during this consultation and where possible revised the draft SCI in response to these.

On 7th November 2005 we submitted the revised Draft Statement of Community Involvement (PDF - 513 KB) to the Secretary of State.

We asked you to evaluate the soundness of the Draft Submission Statement of Community Involvement. The six week consultation period lasted from the 7th November to 19th December 2005.
All representations received have been submitted to the Secretary of State and will be considered by the Inspector at an independent examination. Following submission to the Secretary of State on the 7th November 2005 the SCI was formally adopted on 25th May 2006. More information on Statement of Community Involvement.
